 National Diabetes Supply Scheme
The NDSS is an initiative of the Commonwealth Government administered by Diabetes Australia Ltd. The NDSS is a program that provides blood and urine testing strips, syringes and insulin pump consumables at subsidised prices to people who are registered with the NDSS.
People who are resident in Australia; have been diagnosed with diabetes by a medical practitioner; and hold a current Australian Medicare card can register with the NDSS. If you are a visitor to Australia and from a country with a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement, you may be entitled to temporary registration to the NDSS.

Medtronic MiniMed insulin pumps come with a 4-year warranty.
Should there be medical reasons for the patient to discontinue insulin pump therapy, there is a 30 day 'money back' guarantee. In this instance, the money would be refunded to the Health Fund.
Transmitter and sensors for the Paradigm Real-Time System
The transmitter and the sensors can be purchased directly from Medtronic; they are not reimbursed.
You may be eligible for a tax offset of 20 percent (20 cents in the dollar) of your net medical expenses over $1,500. There is no upper limit on the amount that can be claimed. Net medical expenses are the medical expenses you have paid less any refunds you receive, or could receive, from Medicare or a private health fund. You may be able to claim expenses relating to most illnesses or operations paid to legally qualified doctors, nurses, or chemists and public or private hospitals.
